Community Mental Health (CMH) is one of the most important programs for expanding services to improve the quality of life of people with or are at risk of mental health conditions. Through awareness and de-stigmatization initiatives, the program promotes mental health and psychosocial welfare in the communities.
The initiative has been using evidence-based techniques and envisions a community-based mental health treatment paradigm that may be replicated by the government and other stake holders. The CMH program supports the Government of Nepal’s mental health programs, as well as the SDG goal of ensuring that “No One is Left Behind.”
This program focuses on:
- Empowerment and engagement
- Community mobilization
- Stigma and barrier reduction
- Wellbeing promotion
- Conducive environment
